What Causes Acne

What Causes Acne, Acne Scars & More

Many dermatologists and individuals affected by acne conditions continue to this day to ask themselves what causes acne. What causes acne has always been unclear as acne can result from many different thins such as acne caused by stress, hormonal acne, bacteria or other types of inflammations involving acne-like symptoms that occur in your skins oil pores and follicles.

Several of the major answers to what causes acne include genetics, physical demands and anxieties, medications, cosmetics,  harsh or abrasive cleansing techniques, and different forms of steroids. Squeezing zits can also deepen the bacteria in your pores causing another reason for what causes acne and that is inflammation of the skin. The deepening of the pore blockage is a major factor in what causes acne and can be prevented using acne fighting products such as those mentioned here at AcneSpotTreatment.org.

In regards to more what causes acne (namely hormonal acne) during puberty the human body produces hormones referred to as androgens. Acne is caused when the androgens end up affecting one’s sebaceous glands and that stimulation that results in an acne breakout for those who are very prone to developing acne symptoms. This is a very common answer to the many causes of acne for younger acne sufferers.

For many females, what causes acne can be a much different type of reaction. The same types of androgen hormones can cause acne breakouts during menstrual cycles and pregnancies.

What causes acne in these cases is actually the androgen stimulating the sebaceous glands, as mentioned earlier, which in response cause a much larger amount of sebum being produced, resulting in these types of acne. The pores can become blocked by the oil and dead skin cells on the skin combined with sebum produced and can cause infection from bacteria that may be present.

These bacteria, once in larger numbers, can cause inflammation and acne when it gets trapped in the pores. It is important to treat and even prevent this type of situation especially if you know you may be prone to acne related conditions as this is what causes acne in a major amount of cases.

When considering treatment, it is important to treat the acne breakout with care as it can , in fact, spread if not taken care of immediately.
When an acne breakout occurs, the bacteria continues to feed off of the sebum being produced and can continue to spread. Once the bacterium thrives, it continues to produce more chemicals inside the pores which is what causes acne pimples and pustules. After the skin around the follicle or pore becomes enlarged, the acne spots become much larger and nodule or cyst-like.
Once the acne prone skin has become inflamed and affected, the collagen-producing cells can become harmed and may result in thinner layers of skin which appear as more depressed and scar-like.

It is very important to take preventative measure as a lack thereof can be a major factor in what causes acne. There are many different acne products and acne medicines available today in order to combat acne breakouts such as those we have selected here at Acne Spot Treatment Network.
